At the short end clamped's ....
The fact that the MFT on the short end cameras like "improve" something the lens geometry is expected to by now 'have rumgesprochen. But because the cameras do it so quite effectively, which is actually rarely an issue. Just the users that include the noise of each individual pixel with a magnifying glass, are very tolerant of digital lens corrections.
I have a different attitude and'm perhaps a bit critical, I'll admit. In any case, I have released all three times mZuiko 14-42 and 7-14 at the Panasonic an early work of mine, where I was, however, too lazy, it auszurahmen - because the framework is also a welcome edge straight.
The pictures are as usual with Picasa developed from the RAW - Picasa has the advantage that the image geometry is not to handle and process all the RAW, and the edge that is cut off from the "better" always converters. The keystone I beg to ignore. Obviously I have the camera focused 100% parallel. Of course I could take pictures and graph paper - but it is boring. The above image is from 7-14 at 14mm - corrected clean because I can only say a little cushion, but nothing dramatic. We can live with it.
this is the much-maligned "old" 14-42, loud, slow, "wobbly" and what the attributes are not everything. Clear: a clearly visible ton (I've already demonstrated Auschwitz in various publications).
And this is the "New" 14-42. silent, fast, significant manufactured - but unfortunately, with significantly greater tonne - about the same level of 14-140 from Panasonic. And
Tadaaa: now the Rolls Royce of MFT lenses: the 7-14 at 7 mm:
No, I have not mistaken, the picture is not from the 8mm fisheye, the thing is sold by Panasonic as auskorrigiertes ultra wide angle for more than 1250 € EIA. However, to save the honor of the lens: It is at the short end, only slightly worse than the old 14-42 ...

E-PL2 and Panasonic 7-14
Yesterday I got from the Panasonic Edlef MFT made 7-14 available, and today I had the opportunity to run it to Alsace, Wissembourg. Occasion of the trip was a tour of the Olympus user meeting in the fall ausgekuckten hotels - the Schweigener court. Of course, in the hotel at an ultra-wide angle, I have also photographed busy - from the various dining rooms to the bowling alley - all on it. Here I show a stack of wine jelly, a specialty that it is here for breakfast - just like other people to use strawberry jam.
E-PL2 with Panasonic 7-14, 14mm.
then then visit of Wissembourg in the evening light - Designs where hinkuckt, unfortunately the long telephoto not been at, but with the wide angle is of course one or the other:
E-PL2 with Panasonic 7 -14, 11 mm.
The Pana requires 7-14 again getting used to because of the zoom ring goes the other way. Even if it looks like the gardening season, as far as we have seen, not yet open, but can only take a few days, the first flowers we saw on the trees. (And photographed, but with the E-5, so that has to do with what ....)
E-PL2 with Panasonic 7-14, 14mm.
This is Little Venice in Wissembourg - because the volume is almost here, split into half a dozen arms and it actually permanently along on any bridges or on a creek about. For the photographer this means: Hold lens hood and lens cap ...
In Wissembourg course, there are several cafes, including one in which we have strengthened us with coffee, also has a very respectable battery taps - another's motive for 7-14. Is it time to test the minimum focusing distance. Get closer is not so.
And when the camera is then directed downward, it looks like this:
everything with each 7mm ...
that was not enough with the restaurant industry. Back in Germany we have the restaurant at the "German Wine Gate" visit - you kuckst - including the homely fire in the fireplace:
And on the terrace with stunning views:
to the "German Wine Gate" still a little story: the gate was built anno 1936, when the start the "German Wine Route (Pfalz)" and as the Americans were in 1945 just before the Rhine were overrun, here apparently a few underemployed Texans who immortalized here ...
The joke itself is really thin and probably there's like this already enough photos (I said found I not on Wikipedia or elsewhere in the network on the fly what) - interesting, however, that this photo made with 7mm was and I've seen in the uncorrected RAW comparison. And now my heart is then clear why the FT Zuiko 7-14 € 2,000 costs, and the Panasonic MFT 7-14 half. The lens has a very violent at 7mm barrel. The 14mm is very clean, optically corrected, but for the 7 mm, the lens fully extended to the digital equalization. Since the Zuiko, despite the higher weight and higher price, clearly the better solution.

E-PL2 in the theater
Tonight I have the e-PL2 times taken to the theater. OK, now it was not the Hamlet, but "The Virgin of Bründlhof" and it was not gonna be a dress rehearsal. Was then the only pictures for the notice in the local press.
The time now is not the photo for the newspaper, but as a test image for the PEN is good for all. As you can see, no flash, only the stage lights. ISO 200 1/60s. 35mm. f / 2,0. I confess, I have the 35-100 flanged to the PEN. On stage with ISO 200 A strange feeling. But that is now not the rule - in general, it is rather that of 14-42 to progress, so changing lenses:
Sun - are now's ISO 1600 and the exposure time is short enough that even the index finger is sharp. 39mm, f/5.4 and 1/160s.
I have at this stage now been snapped with E-500, E-3 and E-5 - and all kinds of lenses, from the old 40-150 for now, 35-100. The E-PL2 is completely practical. The only drawback - the display delayed 1/10s. When it comes to a precise gestures, and an exact expression, you have to shoot with two eyes. One of the display, one on the scene. But autofocus and noise performance - the problems are no more. As some already see right mirror reflections of old.

The thing is SZ-30MR for "Super Zoom 30 multi-recording", looks like the new VW Bulli , which was presented in Geneva - only more elegant - and has at I caused an acute reflex purchase. Only the hope that the Multi-recording ends up in the next PEN held me. A few more data's course in the proper channels in the network. For example, in Olympus forum or at oly-e.de . E-PL2 and close-up lens
I've already announced. Today I have screwed my spares box found in the Hama-up lenses to the 14-42 with a little help because the AF is also - in this case I have to manually close range on the focused, and then free-hand via display in focus
The top is old news tomorrow at the Neumarkt station, the lower this afternoon in the forest -. the first signs of spring, with a little PopArt jazzed up. With the +2 Hama lens's kicks in even the image quality of her half-way ...
This is because wide-angle close-up lens - a detail of a letter box. Very nice, very plastic - and if you's in the uncorrected RAW ankuckt ....
one notes that the lens then do it again should more accurately under the microscope. That I'll do tomorrow. For today, then a bit of a graphical gimmick with pencils ...
